5 Saturday Sins of the Serious Entrepreneur

"The will to survive is a human instinct while being determined to thrive requires discipline and superior decision making abilities." - Chrissy

The title entrepreneur is so distinguished and elite. But are you? Or do you just work for yourself? There is a difference! Besides working on ongoing projects and catching up on the weekends, how do you constructively use your time on Saturdays?

Bottom line is that you need to be working HARDER for your business than you would for someone else's. If your bills were X amount and your hours did not provide the salary you needed -- would you not put in overtime or work as many hours allowed by your company? Of course you would. Read on to find out about bad habits you should avoid on Saturdays.

5 Saturday Sins of the Serious Entrepreneur
  1. Taking Saturday off -- Short of family or religious responsibilities, you should be working at minimum a half day. Unless you will be taking Saturday off and implementing these strategies on Sunday, there is no excuse not to work!
  2. Sleeping too late -- Yes it is the weekend, not the work-end. Even if your office hours are M-F, you should be performing housekeeping duties and getting organized for your upcoming week. If you have no work or projects, then spend some time on marketing & promoting your business.
  3. Decreasing Productivity -- It is Saturday and you should let your hair down a little. But do not allow yourself to relax too much; stay focused on your goal and use your time wisely.
  4. Keeping the same schedule -- Switching your schedule up can be a key to increasing your productivity, generating new ideas to promote your business, or establishing new customer relationships. Don't become a slave to your schedule; make your schedule work for you! It would be great to delegate certain duties to Saturday workdays or rotate tasks.
  5. Ignoring Social Media Accounts -- Your target market is still online today! Take some time to engage them, answer questions, or introduce a new tip.
You don't need to put in 12 hours today, but using your time wisely or just preparing for the upcoming work week will be highly beneficial for your firm. Never discount how valuable your time is -- it is literally money!

  1. These are 5 great tips ChrissyBiz. One of the first lessons I have my coaching clients complete has to do a mind shift. You are right on. Too many entrepreneurs don't think like entrepreneurs. They think like an employee. In order to see business growth, we must change our mindset and BE the owner 7 days a week.
